As a member of the Subcommittee that developed the Climate Action Plan, Kristine worked to have La Mesa develop East County's first climate action plan. Climate change will continue to affect La Mesa and we need leaders who will continue for work to implement our Climate Action Plan.
A member of the Affordable Housing Subcommittee, Kristine has co-authored ordinances which have been adopted by the City and are leading to better housing opportunities for all La Mesans, present and future.
A champion of small business, Kristine brought forth much needed relief for both businesses affected by COVID-19. She also made sure that our most vulnerable residents have much needed rental assistance funds.
Whether it's reading to kids at our schools, driving for Meals on Wheels, donating a room at the Boys and Girls Club or just talking to people on a regular basis in the community, Kristine is involved.
Kristine realizes the importance of preserving our history and working to protect historic buildings and neighborhoods.
Kristine led the charge to allow La Mesa residents to have more than two dogs, backyard chickens and La Mesa being ferret friendly.
Kristine's and her Council colleague, Dr. Akilah Weber's efforts to have a smoke free La Mesa while also protecting the rights of businesses were codified in 2019.
